At the Active Essex Foundation we recognise and value the great work that is already being delivered at grass roots level by community organisations and partnership working is key to the success of our projects. We have worked with the following organisations:

Epping Forest District Council

The Epping Forest Community Health and Well Being team provides a programme of community events, activities, courses, classes and projects throughout the district in order to promote healthy lifestyles including; Inclusion projects, estates based work, cycle for Health, Play in the park/forest, forever active, life walks and the Dementia Action Alliance. The Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team’s aim is to encourage and increase participation in sport, physical activity, play and to promote health and wellbeing opportunities for all ages and abilities. We also aim to enable all sections of the community to have access to a wide range of high quality sports, leisure and health and wellbeing services.

Canvey Youth Project – Yellow door

Canvey Youth Project are an independent charity offering Information, Advice, Advocacy, Emotional and Practical Support, Education and Counselling to young people between 11 and 25. They provide an inclusive service across Canvey for individuals feeling depressed or anxious, having family problems, needing advice about drugs and alcohol or need support to claim the benefits and develop a CV. They offer a specialist service for young parents and those facing homelessness.

Their staff are experts in their filed and have great relationships with young people and the local community, they have a local insight and always keep user involvement at the heart of all projects.

Essex Youth Service

Essex youth service is part of Essex County Council services. Working across Essex they support young people, community groups, and schools. For young people they deliver and support a range of initiatives including youth clubs, The Duke of Edinburgh Award, employability, volunteering and supporting young carers. They also manage and deliver the NCS service and Essex Youth Assembly.

Motivated Minds

Motivated Minds is a non-profit ‘Community Interest Company’ who design and facilitate sustainable lifelong health and wellbeing solutions.

They focus on preventative measures by raising awareness of mental and physical health issues, and also offer provisions supporting individuals through positive behaviour change, enabling them to fulfil their full potential.
They actively promote lifelong wellbeing which enables them to reach out and make a real impact across the life-course. All of their programmes have been specifically designed to be engaging and empowering, and help our clients thrive by unique, creative and practical means.
