Holiday Hunger
In 2019 Active Essex Foundation took the lead on combatting Holiday Hunger in Essex, reaching over 2000 families in Essex which then expanded into the Essex ActivAte project
Aiming at engaging youth, (14 – 25 years), who currently ‘hang out’ at the skate park but do not actively take part in any positive activities; rather they are often involved in anti-social behaviour and are at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system.
This project will bring together the criminal justice system and the community sport system to work together so sport is used in a quality assured way to prevent young people from becoming engaged in youth crime and violence.
One of our flagship programmes is the Sports and Lifes Skills Project, which sees us work directly with the Youth Offending Service and locally trusted organisations.
